Debby’s love of learning dance began at the age of 3. When she began taking all of the dance classes available in her small Kansas town. Ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, modern, baton, lyrical, square and eventually swing. Taking a long hiatus from dance to raise a family and start a business it wasn’t until 2022 that Debby met Amethyst and discovered belly dance.![]()

Amethyst/Amy Cottrill is the owner of ElectroBelly Dance Troupe, and the ElectroBelly style of Bellydance, which she created in the 90s, by mixing her love of raves, and electronic music and dancing, with her love of various styles of bellydance and other cultural dances. ![]()

ElectroBelly has performed with a beatboxer (Villain, who will be in this Elements show), breakdancers, hoopers, electronic music DJs, cultural dancers from around the world, and more. ![]()

Amethyst is a Master Instructor, and teaches and performs traditional and contemporary styles of Bellydance and Sacred Dance, and offers a professional training program in addition to casual classes. ![]()

Amethyst has traveled and studied under many, various Master Instructors of various styles, including 3 of her favorites, Ansuya Rathor (Bellydance Superstar), Hannah Romanowsky (Dance Ethnologist), and Deniz (who taught Amethyst to dance on wine goblets). ![]()

Amethyst is Certified by Ansuya Rathor (original member of Bellydance Superstars), having earned her Certification in CA and FL. ![]()

Mira Sol began dancing at just 4 years old learning the traditional folk dances of Slovakia with the Pittsburgh Slovakias. And at age 7 joined the Rankin Junior Tamburitzans dancing traditional Croatian folk dances. She took a long hiatus from dancing after moving away for college then found her way back to dancing by signing up for one class by Amethyst. She has now been learning from Amethyst for 3 years, performing with her student troupe for 2 years, and is excited to be a member of Electrobelly Dance Troupe.![]()

Sterling is the owner of Sterling Yoga & Wellness Center in Scott/Bridgeville for over 20 years. Through yoga, she was introduced to Bellydance and took her first ever dance class at 32. It was an experience that was eye opening, coordination and grace challenge, and learning music and dance – wow, so much FUN! Over the years, Sterling has studied and danced with several belly dancers and troupes including Amethyst and the Electrobelly Dance Troupe. She has worked to co-create belly dance performances and productions, hosting teachers from around the US, teaching and dancing in many professional shows and is looking forward to many more.![]()

Ida began her bellydance journey in 2012 with no previous dance experience, drawn in by Amethyst’s welcoming and inspiring teaching style. Deeply connected to electronic music since her time at the The Art Institute, she found fusion dance to be a powerful form of expression and transformation. Her movement is also influenced by spiritual and sacred dance traditions, blending rhythm, energy, and intention. In 2024, she earned her Usui Reiki Master certification and founded Metaphysical Medic, offering Reiki and creating selenite infused resin and woodburned art. Beyond the stage, she has served as a Nationally Registered Paramedic for 26 years, walking the line between healing, artistry, and service.![]()
